The College and Students’ Union have launched a Pronoun Campaign with the aim to break the stigma surrounding the use of Pronouns, and to make it widely recognised throughout the College. Using the incorrect pronoun for someone can cause disrespect to their identity and create feelings of isolation and invalidation. We want to help prevent this from happening and to reduce the worry of students and staff being called the incorrect pronoun.
BPCSU are giving out free pronoun badges to students and staff to wear and we are also encouraging everyone to add their pronouns to their email signature.
Our mission for this campaign is extremely important to us. We are committed to building a community for students and staff at the College where everyone is welcome. No matter what pronoun you use, we are all part of the same community and we want to ensure that everyone feels respected and safe.
BPCSU and your Student President, Zach, have created a video to provide greater information on the campaign and why it is so important to us. Please watch the video here and share with others, to help raise awareness across the College.
The pronoun badges are available for collection from The Hub at Lansdowne or The Link at North Road. Everyone is welcome to pop by and pick up a badge, and please add your pronoun(s) to your email signature.
If you have any questions about the campaign, please don’t hesitate to get in contact by emailing: studentsunion@bpc.ac.uk or by calling: 01202 205737.
