Where we live and what we call “home” is an important aspect to everyone’s lives. Housing situations can be very different for individuals, and it is important for everyone to live in a safe environment.
If you are in an unsafe environment or having difficulty funding your home, this can cause stress and have an impact on your wellbeing.
Whether you are looking to move house through choice or necessity, we have put together a list of organisations that can help reduce the impact that housing problems can have on your life.
If you have nowhere to stay tonight please come to the link at North Road or Lansdowne immediately, or call the safeguarding numbers on:

Housing toolkit
BCHA
Bournemouth Churches Housing Association was founded in 1968 by a number of local churches, to try to make a practical contribution to local housing problems. Our mission is to help people take control of their own lives.
Whenever people feel vulnerable or stuck, we want to equip them to find a way forward, by offering the highest standards of support for housing, health, learning and work – or any combination of these needs.
We want to be proactive and influential in local communities and national debates, to help eliminate homelessness and social exclusion. As a multi-discipline third sector organisation, we want to continuously develop our services, resources and partnerships, to help bring together the housing, health and social care sectors – and so deliver an ever-improving quality of support to society’s most in-need people.
We offer a free, confidential and impartial housing advice service with specially trained housing advisers for a wide range of housing issues.
We want to prevent homelessness by getting involved as soon as possible to help you remain in your home. We will work with you to help you to resolve or improve your housing circumstances.
The council has a legal obligation to homeless people and because the laws relating to homelessness can be complicated we can provide you with detailed information about this when you contact us.

Routes to Roots (homelessness)
Routes to Roots is founded on Christian principles and seeks to help all homeless, newly homed and vulnerably housed adults in Poole regardless of their faith. We provide basic necessities, such as hot food, clothing and sleeping bags.
At drop-ins; we organise indoor and outdoor motivational activities; and we assist those who are placed in accommodation to remain in their tenancy.
We aim to achieve long-term outcomes for our clients through participation in motivational and well-being projects which boost self-confidence and self-worth, expand and develop skills, promote a sense of belonging and encourage integration into the local community.
Shelter
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help.
Our free emergency helpline is open 365 days a year and is often the first port of call for people facing a housing crisis. You can find expert information about everything from reclaiming your deposit to applying as homeless, and you can talk to an adviser over webchat.
SP Hub (BCP Council)
